Publish Date:2012-04-25
Out of more than 1500 entries from over 37 countries, KinmenNational Park Headquarters’ ecological documentary “Kingfisher” and cultural film“The Quest” were simultaneously nominated for the 45thWorldFest-Houston International Film Festival. Kinmen is rich in naturalecosystems and cultural history, and the abundant bird species have always beena particular favorite of bird enthusiasts. While bird species from the Halcyonidaefamily can be easily spotted in the Kinmen area, they are rarely sighted inTaiwan, thus making them difficult to be observed. Nominated for the “Naturaland Wildlife Category”, “Kingfisher” is an honored nod to the park’sheadquarters for their efforts in the conservation of natural ecosystems. Onthe other hand, the depiction of an immigrant’s courage in the face of hardshipand adversity regardless of their race in “The Quest” was shortlisted for the “CultureCategory”, thus becoming an important promoter in the relaying of culturalhistory and enabling Kinmen to be the focus of global attention. From todayuntil the end of May, the second audio-visual room in the Zhongsanlin VisitorCenter will screen “The Quest” and “Kingfisher” every day at 9 A.M. and 3 P.M.,respectively. The park welcomes everyone to come and enjoy.
