Urban conservation seminar series enlists everyone

From May to December of 2018, Shei-Pa National Park will hold an Urban Conservation series of seminars at Taichung City Dadun Cultural Center and the National Library of Public Information. The seminars will discuss conservation issues that are closely tied to daily urban life, such as roadside trees, mountain climbing activities, and wildlife roadkill.

To encourage more people to attend these seminars, the Shei-Pa National Park Headquarters came up with the Eco Warrior Rewards Program. Attending the seminars will earn one stamp on a reward card. Two stamps can be exchanged for a pottery coaster; three stamps can be exchanged for an eco-friendly reusable utensil set; four stamps can be exchanged for an eco-friendly shopping bag.

The Shei-Pa National Park Headquarters has stated that they hope this open seminar series can establish a platform for interactive dialog, and cultivate like-minded allies with correct ecological conservation concepts through these activities. Hopefully these attitudes can spread to the whole country, elevate Taiwanese people's understanding of ecological conservation, and help achieve the National Parks' goal of promoting and bringing about ecological conservation.
