International experts and scholars meet in Taiwan to share experience of national park Minister of the Interior Yeh Jiunn-rong: National Park is an important brand of a country

 

On December 5th, Ministry of the Interior organized international exchange forum on national park development. Experts and scholars from United States, Canada, Japan and Korea are invited to Taiwan. Minister of the Interior Yeh Jiunn-rong mentioned in a speech, that National Park is an important brand of a country, and should be connected to other countries through improved channels to promote Taiwan.

Experts and scholars invited to the forum included Environmental Management Program (EMP) Branch in the Park Facility Management Division of the National Park Service (NPS) of United States, Carl Wang; Private citizen and community volunteer, Post-Retirement volunteer, NPS Office of Policy of United States, Marcia L. Keener, and visiting professor of National Parks Awareness Center, Edogawa University of Japan, Motoko Oyadormari.

Also, today we invited Regional Chair (North America) of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA), Mr Michael Philip Wong, and Executive Director of National Geographic Society – Asia, Mr Jay Lee. Through giving speech and presentation on seminar and discussion on forum, these experts can enlighten and encourage us in the development of National Parks in Taiwan.
