National Parks of Taiwan

In the woods of Shoushan, Taiwan macaques take on the role as the “bus” for seeds. They are literally the “creators” of the woods, as they sow the seeds of many plants when they move around in the hills. Shoushan National Nature Park Preparation Office will launch the fun event, “Macaques - The Buses of Seeds in the Woods”, at 9am, December 3rd 2016 (Saturday) at the plaza next to the flag station. This event will showcase the life of Taiwan macaques and their role in the ecosystem.

This event will be a fun-packed family outing. Activities include “Get to Know Macaques” challenge game that will take you into the life of macaques through observing their habits and “Macaques Storytelling with Illustrated Books” designed for elementary school students, which will bring the children through the activities of Formosan Macaques through vividly illustrated stories. In addition, the “Macaques Woods Expedition” (online registration required) will be a discovery trip into the woods of Macaques, how they become the buses of seeds and “who the passengers are”.
