The Taijiang National Park Headquarters held the opening ceremony of the “2018 Taijiang Black-faced Spoonbill Season” at the plaza in front of the Visitor Center on the afternoon of October 28th. The opening ceremony began at 1:30 pm, and representatives of the governmental departments, academic sector, local communities, and conservation NGOs all came to the Taijiang National Park to attend the “2018 Taijiang Black-faced Spoonbill Season” opening ceremony activities.

This year's Black-faced Spoonbill Season has specially collaborated with the local community and businesses to launch a number of promotional activities and the Black-faced Spoonbill Community Tour. In the morning, members of the public went to Dayuan Port next to the Headquarters to take bamboo rafts out on Sicao Lake and watch the black-faced spoonbill in the water forest of the lake. In the afternoon, participants lined up to sign up for the tour and take part in the on-site stamp collecting activity in exchange for black-faced spoonbill 3D cards and souvenirs. The day’s events opened up the event series of this year’s Black-faced Spoonbill Season.
