End of the Path, Home of Deer, Place of Serenity—Camping Activity Promoting Environmental Education of the Sika Deer

Have you ever seen a herd of sika deer running on the grasslands? Or have you ever gone to the Sheding Natural Park for a walk and been surprised by a sika deer? Do you want to take a closer look at the lovely sika deer? The Kenting National Park Headquarters held the Kenting National Park Headquarters Youth Camp “End of the Path, Home of Deer, Place of Serenity” in 2021, where registration was opened to 40 participants on April 18 (Sun). The activity costs NT$200 per person and will be taking place in two sessions, on August 14 to 15 (Sat-Sun), and November 6 to 7 (Sat-Sun). The activity will last two days and one night, with 25 participants each session. Join us and learn more about the past and present of Taiwan’s sika deer.

Content of the Activity: Deer search, introduction of the sika deer, and the activities “I am a Tracker” and “Deer herding for Self-Discovery.” Through the natural resources around the conservation area, we will carry out environmental education activities, experience the survival mode of the deer, think about our living habits, and take practical actions to change our attitude towards ecological conservation.

We welcome everyone who is ten years old and older to participate; registration is available online.
