2021 Kenting National Park Beach Clean up

Although Taiwan was affected by the pandemic in 2021, and the public barely had the opportunity to engage in outdoor activities and tourism, the beaches in Kenting National Park did not become cleaner just because there were no human activities. This year, due to the severe climate, heavy rains for more than a month, and a typhoon that approached Taiwan, the sea currents and the southwest monsoon brought a large amount of drifting garbage to the beaches of Kenting National Park.

To promote environmental protection, maintain the environmental cleanliness of marine waters, and to offer positive and high-quality outdoor activities after the pandemic, the Kenting National Park Headquarters will be holding a beach cleanup for the beaches under its jurisdiction in October.

This activity will be held in response to the Clean Up the World Weekend. The Kenting National Park Headquarters is calling on the public to join the beach cleanup on October 16, 2021. The cleanup activities will be taking place in 10 beaches, including Houwan, Wanlitong, Shanhai dive site, and Houbi Lake. The registration location of each site will be published on the Headquarters’ Facebook page and official website. There are 450 spaces available for registration. Registration will be available until October 8 at 17:00., Only online registrations will be accepted. For more information, please visit the online application system on our website.
