Rejoice! Lide Community Area in Manzhou Township - the First Community-type Area to be Certified as a Facility and Place for Environmental Education within Kenting National Park and Pingtung County

Since 2012, Kenting National Park Headquarters has been advising Lide community on developing ecotourism, enabling the residents to understand the connection between environmental protection and community well-being. Promoting ecotourism not only has established the residents’ consensus about environmental protection and ecological conservation, but also made members of the community come together to protect their living environment and commit to elevating the quality of ecotourism and benefit of environmental education.

Under the two-year guidance from Kenting National Park Headquarters and National Kaohsiung Normal University from 2017 to 2018, seven people from the Lide community has become certified environmental education teaching staff by 2018. Four education plans - "Lanren River Leisure Tour", "Food & Art", "Ciljasuak Culture", "Grey-faced Buzzard” - were also organized. By the end of 2018, the processes to become a certified facility and place for environmental education under the Environmental Protection Administration were also completed. On February 1, 2019, Lide community area became the first in Pingtung County to be certified as a facility and place for environmental education, with its application submitted by the Community Development Association.
