Yushan National Park Headquarters: Promoting a New Pandemic Prevention Mindset for Hiking

The National Epidemic Alert remains at level 2, and mountain cabins are available at one-third of capacity since the partial reopening on September 10. When engaging in outdoor activities, please follow the pandemic prevention guidelines and ensure that you are equipped with masks and alcohol sanitizer. Please keep a safe social distance when hiking, and disinfect your hands or wipe the surface with alcohol sanitizer when eating or touching the facilities.

Before engaging in hiking activities, conduct a self-health check and carry out prior planning and preparations according to the Pandemic Prevention Self-Checklist for Hiking Activities. If you have a cold or fever, please cancel the trip and do not force yourself to go hiking to ensure the effectiveness of pandemic prevention efforts.

In the “new normal,” where the virus has affected all aspects of our lives, prior preparation is crucial before going on a trip. Members of the public can visit the National Park Trail System Grading website and refer to the trail grading content to select suitable hiking routes and make a hiking plan before setting out on the trip.

After entering the mountains, please adopt the new pandemic-prevention mindset for hiking. Hike with respect, humility, and leave no traces. Please remember the three no’s of encountering wildlife: no contact, no feeding, and no interference. Let’s bring back the joy of living together with the environment in harmony.
