Yangmingshan East-West Vertical Traverse Continues on July 1

Yangmingshan National Park will continue to hold the "Yangmingshan East-West Vertical Traverse" on July 1, 2019. Participants of this event must have an activity handbook. Use the stamping pages in the handbook to collect the stamps of Chinese characters corresponding to the pages from various summits. Once completed, the handbook can be exchanged for a commemorative at the visitor center. The handbooks can be purchased from the shop at the visitor center inside the national park and the four visitor service stations. The new version costs NT$150 each. Event participants can begin their traverse once they've gotten a handbook. Older post-2016 versions of the handbook can continue to be used if they are not completed yet.

A total of 10 locations are included in the traverse event: Mt. Ding ("Yang"), Mt. Shiti ("Ming"), Jixinlun ("Shan"), Mt. Qixing east peak ("Dong"), Mt. Qixing main peak ("Xi"), Mt. Datun main peak ("Da"), Mt. Datun south peak ("Zong"), Mt. Datun west peak ("Zou"), Mt. Miantian ("Huo"), and Mt. Xiangtian ("Dong"). The location of Chinese character "Shan" was formerly at Mt. Zhugao. It has been moved to Jixinlun, the highest point in the middle of the Lengqing Path, due to the closure of the Qingtiangang Trail.
