Central Cross-Island Highway 60th Anniversary - Music of the Valley Concert at Tienhsiang on August 1st, 2020

This year marks the 60th anniversary since the opening of the Central Cross-Island Highway. The Taroko National Park Headquarters will be holding the Central Cross-Island Highway 60th Anniversary - Music of the Valley concert at Tienhsiang on August 1st, where a number of local indigenous music ensembles, dance troupes, and soloists will be invited to perform.

The event will be combined with activities from A Date with Tienhsiang, where tour guides will take the visitors to explore the nature and culture of the Tienhsiang area. There will also be a community cultural fair, where local organic and non-toxic agricultural products and traditional Truku handcrafts will be on sale. We welcome everyone to come embark on an adventure at Tienhsiang that will nourish your mind and senses.

The concert will be held from 10:00-11:30 a.m. on the Tienhsiang Fuyuan Grassland and will include performances by Truku singer Pitayru Ukah of the KTS Music Studio, Mr. Chang Su-rui and Mr. Chen Hsiao-wen of Ciwang Memorial Church, and Truku visually-impaired singer Miru.

The program will include Truku xylophone (tatuk) and Jew's harp recitals, traditional songs, and indigenous dances. The audience will be able to experience the culture of the indigenous people through these authentic performances.
