Installation of Safety Facilities at Taroko National Park’s Zhuilu Old Road Trail closure to be apportioned into three phases starting from September 15th, 2020

To improve the safety of the Zhuilu Old Road, the Taroko National Park Headquarters has scheduled the installation of trail safety facilities in three construction phases starting from September 15th, 2020. For the safety of tourists, Zhuilu Old Road will be closed during this period due to the narrow sections of the trail that will be undergoing maintenance.

The three phases of construction and the dates of closure at Zhuilu Old Road are as follows:

1. September 15th, 2020 (Tuesday) – September 30th, 2020 (Wednesday), 16 days total.

2. October 16th, 2020 (Friday) – October 30th, 2020 (Friday), 15 days total.

3. November 16th, 2020 (Monday) – November 30th (Monday), 15 days total.

The Taroko National Park Headquarters states that Zhuilu Old Road remains open outside these three phases of construction, and visitors may still apply online for Park Entry Permits to Zhuilu Old Road. Inclement weather conditions may result in the phases of construction being moved or extended, with the goal of the construction to improve recreational safety and quality. In these cases, the Park Headquarters will announce these changes on their official website.
