In Response to Arbor Day, Taijiang National Park Headquarters Promotes Diversified Coastal Botanical Garden

The Taijiang National Park Headquarters set up an administrative and visitor center located in the coastal area between Sicao Boulevard and Yanshui River. The center has not only become a beautiful architectural landmark of Tainan City, but also shoulders the important responsibilities of conservation research, environmental education, ecotourism, cultural learning, and value-added industrial development.

In response to Arbor Day on March 12th, the Taijiang National Park Headquarters organized a planting event. Professor Hsieh Tsung-Hsin of the National University of Tainan provided seedlings of rare endemic plants including nicker nut (Caesalpinia bonduc (L.) Roxb.) and red mangrove (Rhizophora stylosa), while Director Hsieh Wei-Sung led the Taijiang National Park Headquarters staff to plant the seedlings on the Taijiang Campus. On March 14th, volunteers were also invited to participate in a working holiday for the removal of invasive plants and the planting of native plants. Visitors on the day should give this group of hard-working volunteers a word of encouragement.
