Searching for the Traditional Tastes of Taijiang ─ a Food Story filled with History, Customs and Humanistic Touch New Book Publication Conference

 

In order to understand the traditional Taijiang food culture, the Taijiang National Park Management Office has commissioned Associate Professor Yu-Zhen Chen of National Taiwan Normal University and Deputy Researcher Pin-Cang Zeng of the Academia Sinica to conduct a historical, literary and field investigation of the relevant records since 2015 to trace back the characteristics of the original Taijiang food culture. The investigators visited the Taijiang area throughout 2016 and conducted in-depth interviews ánd studied the book Searching for the Traditional Tastes of Taijiang ─ a Food Story filled with History, Customs and Humanistic Touches was completed by Mrs. Pina Wu, a Masters Degree laureate from Harvard University.

The new book publication conference was set on September 2, 2017 (Saturday) at the Evergreen Plaza Hotel. Author Mrs. Pina Wu has used food and music as the vehicles to describe the little-known humanistic patterns and local wisdom discovered during the field investigation as well as to discuss the ecological wisdom, emotions, traditions and innovations of the Taijiang food culture.
