Applications Required for Diving Activities at South Penghu Marine National Park

While recreational marine activities are permitted at the general controlled areas and marine recreation areas in the South Penghu Marine National Park, there are also separated conservation areas of various types in the park. Among them, the Tiezhen marine ecological conservation area prohibits any recreational marine activities. Furthermore, applications are required to be submitted and approved before different types of recreational marine activities can take place at the marine scenic areas. This is to conserve the coral reefs, control daily visitor numbers, and ensure people’s safety.

In addition, to maintain the ecological environment of the marine areas and ensure recreational safety, jet skiing and high-speed towing activities (such as parasailing, banana boating, kite surfing, and waterskiing) are prohibited within the National Park. Factors related to seasonal weathers and safety are taken into consideration for diving activities, which are allowed from April 1 to September 30 every year, from 6:00 in the morning to 18:00 in the evening. For those with special reasons and have activity plans approved by the Marine National Park Headquarters, the allowed activity type and time are not limited by the rules stated here.
