PHOTOGRAPHIC VIEWPOINT

Deep White Tale-Like Landscape - Visiting Taiwan snow landscape with Jin-Yuan Dai

2 of 5
It takes outstanding energy, perseverance, skills, and luck to perfectly capture mountain snow scenes in Taiwan.
Photography, a job and a dream

“Early commercial photography skills were mostly learned through apprenticeship.” In 1984, Teacher Dai worked as a novice in a commercial advertisement photography company and started with the basics. With growing passion for photography, he later established the famous Hippo Photography, getting known in commercial photography.

Born in Jin-Gua-Shih, Dai grew up by the mountain and the ocean and has wonderful impressions with the great nature.
When free, he likes to take pictures in areas outside a busy city with a camera. An important post retirement wish for him is to record lasting memories around Taiwan.

The 921 Earthquake shattered countless sweet homes and destroyed this beautiful land. The health of Dai also went bad to worse due to long-term work. He felt that he was further away from his post-retirement dream. Will the mountain still be green and rivers running then? Will he be too old to carry a camera?
White mountains further pronounces the steep terrains and magnificent air. It also makes people marvel at the natural landscape. The picture is a snow scene from the eastern peak of Huhuan Mountain.
