North Shoushan Mountain Hiking Trail

People often ask whether it is Shoushan or Chaishan? In fact, it turns out that both are the same mountain. In 1923, Japan's Prince Hirohito (later the Showa Emperor) came to Taiwan and stayed at the Takaoyama Guest House (on the south side of Shoushan). It happened to be Prince Hirohito's birthday, and Taiwan Governor Den Kenjiro thereupon named Takaoyama (Kaohsiung Mountain) Shoushan, meaning 'Long Life Mountain', in celebration of the prince's birthday. Now, people often divide Shoushan into South Shoushan (Zoo Trailhead), Middle Shoushan, and North Shoushan (Longquan Temple Trailhead) according to the location of the mountain's trailheads. What you see at each is different, so this time I will just introduce you to North Shoushan!
