In 2018, the United Nations declared June 3 as International World Bicycle Day. Cycling is a simple, affordable, reliable, clean, and eco-friendly form of sustainable transport that promotes environmental management and health; it is well-worth to popularize cycling throughout the world.

The Taijiang National Park Headquarters has organized various cultural cycling activities over the years. The public has been invited to explore the beauty of the Taijiang Wetlands in a half-day eco-cycling tour of around 15 km. This activity is suitable for all ages and has been well received by the public. Even though the route remains the same, with the change of the seasons, visitors can appreciate the different animals and plant ecosystems together with the ecological guide at the designated points. Visitors can birdwatch with binoculars and listen to the ecological descriptions provided by the tour guides, as well as appreciate the winter migration of birds and their feather molt during the breeding season.

The accessible facilities at Wangziliaoshan sandbar are set up with the ecosystem as priority. Special fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) has been used as material to avoid damaging the original local topography and sceneries, taking into consideration the local coastal environment and the convenience for members of the public to take walks. After its completion, it has enjoyed popularity and is in line with the original purpose of the scenic trail: It relieves crowding and diverts tourist traffic from the Qigu area and other scenic spots, and provides visitors with multiple perspectives on the local culture and ecosystem.

2020 Yangmingshan Festival—Opening Ceremony of the International Cultural and Creative Fair

During its 35th anniversary celebration, the Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters held a series of events to explore the local cultural features and lifestyle, including the 2020 Yangmingshan International Cultural and Creative Design Competition and 2020 Yangmingshan Festival—International Cultural and Creative Fair.

In conjunction with the Chinese Culture University, the Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters revamped and transformed the Da Ren Building and Da Zhi Building—which had previously not been open to the public—into exhibition spaces for the revitalization and spatial reuse of Yangming Shuwu.

The exhibitions include the achivements of the national park's operations, cultural and creative product design, industrial innovation economics, history and humanities, and friendly agriculture. Local celebrities were also invited to share their experiences on the development of local communities. In addition, 35 renowned scholars were invited to participate in the Yangmingshan Cultural Lectures to share their views on exciting topics such as the literature of Yangmingshan, its past and present, local industries, the value chain of international cultural and creative industries, and social innovation and transformation.

Wu Hsin-Hsou, Director General of the Construction and Planning Agency, praised the transformation as a beautiful example of an "old place bursting forth fresh creativity". Liu Pei-Tung, Director of the Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters, elaborated on the prospective use of this area as a "cultural and creative incubator". In the future, Yangmingshan National Park will continue to cooperate with the Chinese Culture University so that more people can be inspired by the natural ecosystem and historical and cultural resources of Yangmingshan, and thus increase the combined value of the ecological environment, human society, and industrial economy.
