Shoushan National Nature Park has released this year’s brand new “Shoushan Lianas Manual”. The book release was held at the Visitor Center in the forenoon of December 6. The “Shoushan Lianas Manual” was co-written by Professor Yang Sheng-Zehn and student Chen Bo-Hao of the Department of Forestry of the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology during Chen’s substitute military service period. The vines on Shoushan are introduced through concise vocabulary, rich and precise images, and a simple, dynamic and elegant layout.

Included in this book are 126 species of lianas, a detailed record of their locations with photos of the appearances of their stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds. There are even the lianas’ climbing forms and internal structural photos of the stems’ cross sections to facilitate understanding of their unique features and further studies of the secrets of their stem structures and tissue.
