After receiving the 23rd Public Construction Golden Quality Award in the civil engineering category issued by the Public Construction Commission, Executive Yuan, the Mt. Miantian-Mt. Xiangtian Trail of Yangmingshan National Park went on to win the prestigious Outstanding Award in the Sustainable Performance category of the 11th Taiwan Landscape Awards 2023, organized by the Taiwan Institute of Landscape Architects.

The construction work of Mt. Miantian-Mt. Xiangtian Trail took the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into consideration and implemented life-cycle ecological conservation measures from planning to design, construction to maintenance. It also integrated energy saving, carbon reduction, and eco-friendly approaches into the design methodology and construction details, replacing man-made materials with natural materials, using recycled resources, and replanting native plants. Ecological restoration is carried out through the use of seedling replanting, exotic species removal, and addition of water spaces, porous spaces, and ecological corridors. These measures are complemented by the implementation of environmental audits to minimize negative impacts on the ecosystem.
