NPS, Kinmen National Park Headquarters, and Wan Hai Lines Join Hands to Plant Trees and Implement Corporate Sustainable Development Goals in Line with ESGs

The NPS held the 2024 Annual Tree Planting Day in Kinmen this morning (March 7th) next to the bus parking lot by Zhaishan Tunnel. Through cooperation with Wan Hai Lines Ltd. and the participation of the community of Gugang, Kinmen County, they planted camphor trees and other native tree species together, doing their part to achieve environmental sustainability.

In response to the global trend of net zero emissions and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the NPS invited a number of organizations and staff from the Kinmen National Park Headquarters to jointly plant around 200 saplings, while the rest of the 1.64 hectares of the area will be planted with around 4,850 trees and shrubs with the help of Wan Hai Lines Ltd.

The site of this planting event is near Zhaishan Tunnel. In the past, because of the prolonged drought and lack of rain in Kinmen, which posed a great threat to the utilization of local water resources, the Kinmen National Park Headquarters organized the dredging and desludging project of Gugang Lake and re-earthed this region, which can also help with soil improvement.
