The Opening of “Mashan Broadcasting Station” at Kinmen National Park Witnessing and Remembering the Cold War Era with Political and Propaganda Warfare

 

Kinmen National Park Headquarters held the park battle history site revitalizing event with the opening ceremony of “Mashan Broadcasting Station” on 10:30 AM, Jan. 17th, 2017.

The spatial designing and organization of this station displays the mission, staffing establishment, management, and ways and contents of propaganda during the propaganda missions in the 1970’s, along with the life style of the female broadcasters here during that period of time. With the comprehensive presentation of Mashan Observation Station and Mashan Broadcast Station, visitors can further understand the importance on the geographical location and historical positioning of Mashan Station.

At the opening ceremony, the gong and drum team of Guanao Shier Jinchai and the Jinsha Waist Drum Team were invited for the opening performance. In addition to that, Kinmen National Park Headquarters also invited five veterans who had served in Mashan Broadcast Station, including network controlling officer Mr. Hua Ke Chiang and his wife (Ms. Chen Jyuan-jyuan, who also served as a broadcaster), intelligence officer Mr. Jhuang Jhong-shou, broadcaster Ms. Men Wan-jhen and broadcaster Ms. Tian Li-yun to take part in the opening ceremony.
