Kinmen National Park builds friendly a bird-watching environment to welcome the summer fairy

 

 

The blue-tailed bee-eater (Merops philippinus) is a featured migratory bird of Kinmen and cannot be found elsewhere in Taiwan. Every April, they fly to Kinmen, digging holes nesting for proliferation.

According to Kinmen National Park, in order for more visitors to see the beauty and wonder of this summer fairy and its interesting behavior, and to minimize the inference on the life of this rare guest while watching it, the national park has built inside the Qingnian Farm some eco-friendly facilities, such as a camouflaged bird-watching passage and a bird-watching platform, for visitors to watch the bird and thereby promote the correct ethics and attitude of bird-watching.

At the Triangle Fort near Cihu Lake, the national park has installed a CCTV system for visitors interesting in exploring the mating process of the blue-tailed bee-eater from the real-time video over the internet.
