National Parks of Taiwan

The Taijiang National Park and Qigu's local communities, businesses, fishermen, and elementary schools have entered into a cross-disciplinary collaboration, planning an exclusive spring tour itinerary named "Satoumi Cycling—Western Taijiang Étude", which will start on March 23 this year (2024). There will be a total of three tours, held on March 23 (Sat.), April 27 (Sat.), and May 25 (Sat.), respectively.

The Satoumi Cycling activities connect various scenic spots and industries in Taijiang. In the morning, bicycle guides and local residents will meet the participants at Shifen Village, Qigu District, where they will then ride along the embankment of Zengwen River in a westerly direction. Along the way, they will first see farmland in the salt zone, then behold a wide expanse of fish farms, where mainly clams and milkfish are raised. Next, they will reach the main habitat of black-faced spoonbills, and finally, the trip will reach the westernmost point of Taiwan's main island, the Guosheng Lighthouse. The 23-kilometer round-trip route, locally known as the "Lazy Tour", takes you on a journey where you can witness the various major industries and ecological features of the area.
