Pangolin Wedding Brings Together Partners for Foothill Ecological Conservation

Focusing on the development of natural landscapes, ecosystem, and cultural history of Matoushan, the National Nature Park Headquarters has been collaborating with local nature and cultural associations to conduct nine community empowerment courses. They also published a community eco-tourism guidebook for Matoushan, providing complete itineraries for local tourists, and serving as training material for future community guides.

In addition, in conjunction with the annual local market event of Matoushan, the National Nature Park Headquarters and Shih Chien University collaborated on an eco-design fashion show. Together with the Matoushan Nature and Cultural Association and the Tainan Geological Park Society, they jointly organized a “wedding” event for Taiwanese pangolins. The event encouraged more people to learn about Matoushan, an ecological treasure in southwest Taiwan, and established cross-border partnerships.

The National Nature Park Headquarters hopes that through the continuous promotion of ecological conservation partnerships, the concept of foothill ecological conservation will become entrenched in the mind of the local community, helping to create sustainable development, in which people and the natural environment can coexist in harmony.
